At 4 pm this very same day a year ago we had the heartbreaking decision to turn off my mums life support machine after 2 massive strokes. Around this very same time she took her final breath with me holding her hand and all her family surrounding her, a truly horrific moment and one I wouldn't wish on my worst enemies. What I've learnt is that life is short and unexpected, don't take loved ones or anything for granted, be thankful for all the good people around you and make sure you appreciate all the happy memories you take along the way. I never expected my mum to pass away aged 57, she seemed in good health and full of life but a stroke can hit at any unexpected moment. I do anything to speak to my mum one last time so be thankful for all your loved ones, everyday! X
